Over the last decade, anterior THR has gained widespread acceptance. Today, skilled and experienced surgeons with an improved understanding of the requirements for efficient leg positioning and surgical exposure are trying to unburden their OR teams from sometimes cumbersome specialty trauma tables used to perform anterior approach THR. Economic pressures have further accelerated the adoption of off-table techniques that allow surgeons to control leg positioning, range of motion, and hip stability more freely. In addition, proper and consistent leg rotation and extension can be challenging and tiring without the use of an appropriate device.
The PURIST is designed to boost efficiency and surgeon control throughout the anterior THR procedure.
Equipped with Swiss precision and ergonomic design, the PURIST offers many clinical, operational and logistical advantages.
The PURIST enables all essential leg movements necessary for anterior THR in a condensed and efficient manner. It is built to perform independent DA THR movements on a graduated scale and its enhanced design allows the surgeon to control rotation, gross and fine traction intra-operatively and without the help from non-sterile personnel. The boot quick connect facilitates range of motion stability testing. The patented auto traction release mechanism engages automatically when the leg is lowered and restores traction at 0 degrees extension.
The PURIST offers a small OR footprint of 2 x 3 ft, weighs only 40kg/88lbs. Its quick setup, mobility, and staff-friendly operation facilitate back-to-back surgeries. Finally, its modular design provides for optimal serviceability.
